DGR – Dangerous Goods
DGR – Dangerous Goods are substances which contain physiochemical toxic components that pose immediate danger or harm to people, properties or the surroundings. Although many dangerous goods are classified as hazardous materials not all HazMat are dangerous goods. The standard for identification of dangerous goods is indicated in NFPA 704 or National Fire Protection Association code 704 which is represented by a diamond logo so that personnel can quickly identify them in order to apply extra precautionary measures and use special personal protective equipment. Radioactive chemical compounds and infectious substances are not classified as HAZMAT rather solely dangerous goods because of its environmental hazardous properties.
